Director of Attorney Recruitment and Development (Syracuse, NY)

We are currently seeking a full-time Director of Attorney Recruitment and Development to join the Firm Administration team in our Syracuse Office.

Annual Salary Range: $85 – $100K

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and implement Summer Associate and lateral Associate recruiting efforts.
  • Schedule and attend recruiting programs and interview sessions.
  • Work with firm management and practice group leaders in evaluating hiring needs.
  • Researching and reporting market information as it relates to Associate hiring.
  • Oversee Associate integration, to ensure a smooth transition from onboarding to practice.

Legal Intake and Data Base Specialist (Syracuse, NY)

We currently seek a full-time experienced Legal Intake and Data Base Specialist to join our Firm Administration team in our Syracuse Office.

Salary Range: $27.00 – $29.00/hr.

Primary Responsibilities:

Intake

  • Responsible for receiving intake phone calls from potential clients.
  • Complete intake form for potential clients and direct to appropriate attorney.

New Client / Matter

  • Carefully, accurately and in a timely manner, review and process all NCMM submissions for new and existing clients (includes conducting any required corporate research on the listed parties to the submission, resolving any noted data entry errors/omissions in the NCMM forms).
  • Review new matters for accuracy and completion, confirming that required documents such as engagement letters and conflict waivers are attached.
  • Collaborate with attorneys, staff and the Firm’s Time and Billing Department to ensure that the Client Database is regularly updated for accurate invoice addresses and billing methods.
  • Process all client matter modifications, closings and re-openings, while maintaining system integrity and confidentiality.
  • Responsible for routine maintenance of NCMM Forms.
  • Maintain and update procedure manual.
  • Additional projects/duties as assigned.

  • Prior legal industry new business intake/conflicts experience. Bachelor’s degree or combination of education and experience preferred.

Librarian (Syracuse, NY)

Librarian

This position is responsible for managing the firm’s legal research materials, monitoring acquisition and renewal of those resources, preparing an operating budget, negotiating and monitoring vendor contracts, and allocating, organizing and disseminating legal resources.  Function includes (1) research, analysis and evaluation of the accuracy, quality and validity of information, (2) coordinate training for legal professionals, (3) organizing, classifying, maintaining and finding law library resources and materials, and (4) assisting/providing back-up coverage to the new matter/conflict checking process.  Preferred qualifications: (1) library science degree and/or directly related experience as a law librarian; (2) demonstrated ability to plan, implement and/or coordinate projects (3) strong attention to detail (4) a professional, cooperative, positive and flexible attitude.

General Litigation Associate (Syracuse, NY)

The ideal candidate will:

Be admitted to the New York State bar or meet the requirements to waive in;

  • Have experience handling litigation matters in one or more of the following areas of civil litigation:  labor and employments disputes, including employment discrimination (either plaintiff or defense-side), wage and hour matters, and retaliation (including whistleblower) claims; business disputes; complex commercial litigation; construction law; and real estate disputes.
  • Have experience preparing pleadings and assisting with or conducting discovery and motion practice;

Tax and Development Finance Attorney (Syracuse, NY)

Bousquet Holstein, PLLC, a mid-sized law firm with offices in Syracuse and Ithaca, NY with a variety of local, regional, national, and international clients, is seeking to hire an attorney experienced in federal taxation and in ownership and equity structures for business transactions and real estate development projects, including federal and New York State tax credit transactions.

Experience: 

We are looking for candidates with demonstrable experience in some or all of the following areas:

  • Tax-informed structuring of commercial real estate (including multifamily) development transactions;
  • Formation of limited liability companies, partnerships, corporations, and other business entities, including experience with allocation structures for multi-tiered LLCs/partnerships to achieve economic agreements among project owners and investors;
  • Transaction and project financing experience with developers, investors, lenders, governmental agencies, and bond issuers;
  • Planning, negotiating, and structuring project finance involving federal business tax credits (e.g., green energy/investment, low-income housing, and rehabilitation (historic properties) tax credits), state tax credits (NYS tax credit experience in particular), and other state and local economic development programs and incentives; and
  • Merger and acquisition transaction structuring and financing.

Required Competencies:

  • Licensed to practice law in New York State
  • 4+ years of relevant experience
